The goal of the Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility.
Two types of MSCA IF
• European Fellowship = it is held in EU Member States (MS) or EU Associated countries; duration between 12 and 24 months
• Global Fellowship = in a TC (Third country) with a following mandatory return period (any EU/AC organisation); duration 12/24 + 12 months
Other options:
MSCA Widening Fellowship (WF) - Specific support to researchers to undertake their fellowship in a Widening country - Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia
Associated Countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Northern Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine
Applicants submit a regular MSCA-IF proposal and if they end up below the line they may still get funded thanks to specifically dedicated Spreading Excellence „budget“ for those whose host organization is located in a Widening country.
MSCA – funded from Structural Funds
Operational Programme Research, Development and Education – OP RDE („OP VVV“ in Czech) - The call basically allow to fund all project propsal scoring above 70 points, i.e. all above the threshold. The existence of „OP VVV MSCA“ is a strong reason for you to apply for the MSCA-IF. The likelihood of success is very high!

Applied Research Funding Landscapes
Introduction to the diverse national programmes of Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, ministries, and of European Structural and Investment Funds (OPPIK). The Czech Science Foundation (GA CR) has announced the public tender in research, experimental development and innovation for the support of Standard, JUNIOR STAR and International projects in basic research and projects of excellence in basic research - EXPRO.
Deadline of the call - 7th April 2020.

Swiss National Science Foundation and GA CR announced the first call on bilateral cooperation on the Lead Agency principle with the SNSF in the role of a Lead Agency.
The Call for Proposals is open to projects proposals within all disciplines and topics of basic research.
Visegrad Grants is a grant program run and financed by the International Visegrad Fund aimed at fostering cooperation between the V4 countries (Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia).
Proposals are accepted regularly three times per year always by February 1, June 1 and October 1.
New types of project opportunities prepared by the Czech Science Foundation:
JUNIOR STAR Projects - Promoting excellence in young researchers from all areas of basic research and competitiveness in ERC challenges.
Postdoc Individual Fellowship Projects - Promoting internationally competitive researchers in basic research from all areas of basic research. Supporting the international experience of Czech scientist and support for the involvement of foreign scientists in Czech institutions.
The Czech Science Foundation (GA CR) prepares a competition in the framework of bilateral cooperation with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The SNSF website has already published information with a deadline for the Swiss side: April 1, 2020 at 5 pm. In 2020, proposals will be evaluated only on the Swiss side ("Lead agency" evaluation, in 2021 proposals will be evaluated by GA CR).
In 2020, bilateral and trilateral calls should be launched with the Austrian FWF, the Polish NCN and the Slovenian ARRS. This new cooperation will enable researchers from the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland and Slovenia to carry out scientific projects with new foreign partners on the principle of LA evaluation (max 3-year projects, selection of LA according to the required costs). The relevant rules and public tenders for these LA cooperation project proposals will be published atr the beginning of 2020.
