Within the framework of international cooperation in basic research, GA CR announces a call for joint project proposals with the Austrian agency FWF evaluated on the principle of Lead Agency thematically focused on the current pandemic COVID-19.

Objectives

Project proposals can be submitted at any time up to 30 September 2020 according to the rules of the Austrian FWF (Lead agency for this call). 

Funding of the first selected projects is expected from autumn this year.

The call is open to international scientific teams that can submit a joint bilateral to trilateral project proposal, always together with the Austrian scientific team and possibly the scientific team of one of the other countries that have joined this call - Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Republic of Slovenia, Switzerland and Italy (Provincial administration of South Tyrol/Alto Adige).

Goals/purpose of the foundation

• Immediate support to high quality projects aimed at studying humanitarian crises such as epidemics and pandemics using the example of SARS-CoV-2, thereby contributing to better manage possible future humanitarian crises
• To contribute to the global exchange of knowledge by making results freely available to the academic community and society“

Limitations

Each participant of this call can submit only one project proposal and the proposal of such project does not count towards the limit of submitted proposals according to individual rules and tender documents for other calls and tenders announced by GA CR in 2020.
