On October 26, 2022, the TA CR announced the first public competition in the Program for the support of applied research and innovation SIGMA – Sub-goal 3 – Support of the innovation potential of social sciences, humanities and arts.

Each project proposal must fulfill exactly one main theme and one sub-theme from the chosen main theme.

Objectives

The essence of the project proposal must be in SHUV (the so-called core of SHUV), which means that the intention of the project proposal must be to strengthen the social sciences, humanities and arts in the activities of applied research and innovation. The application of outputs/results will be in the form of new or substantially improved products, procedures, processes or services.

Limitations

The result O, B, C, D, J, A, W, M is only possible in combination with the main result (each project must have at least one main result, p. 12 of tender document, e.g. Nmet, H, F, G, P , R).

Results of type Nmet and J must be publicly available, including related research data (publication in the form of "open access", the costs of ensuring OA are eligible).

Mandatory attachment for types of results NmetS, NmetA, NmetC with confirmation of the future approval/accreditation/certification authority.

Applicants are only research organizations and enterprises, so non-profit organizations, OSS, territorial self-governing units can only be part of the enterprise.

Maximum amount of support per project: CZK 12 million
Maximum intensity of support for one project: 80% (more on page 15 TD).

Overhead flat rate 25%.

Start of project implementation June 2023 – September 2023
Duration of project implementation 12-42 months
The latest deadline for completing the project implementation is November 2026

Each project proposal must have exactly one application guarantor from the Czech Republic (other interested parties can be described in the text of the proposal or documented with a Letter of Intent).

Together with the first interim report, the main recipient is obliged to submit a "Data Management Plan" (DMP) to the provider.
