Call in the Program for the support of applied medical research for the years 2024 – 2030

The Ministry of Health announces a competition to support applied research projects aimed at solving problems related to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of human diseases.

The programme has three main areas, Public Health, Pathogenesis and Development of Diseases and Innovative Solutions for Medicine, which are further divided into 26 sub-areas and 95 sub-objectives. Proposals must be assigned to one or more of the sub-objectives and ensure the implementation of one or more of the sub-areas (see more on pages 10-14 of the tender document).

Objectives

The programme for the support of applied health research for the years 2024-2030 will enable the generation of new knowledge whose specific aim or objective will enable or aim at improving public health, elucidating the pathogenesis and development of diseases, or seeking innovative solutions for medicine, with a view to maintaining maximum efficiency in the use of public funds.

Limitations

Parameters:

start of a project: May 2024,
completion of the project by 31 December 2027 at the latest,
expected duration of the projects 44 months.

Research organisations: up to 100% support, enterprises: depending on the size of the company (p. 8 of the tender document)

Proposer (co-proposer) min 0.2 FTE

Standard projects: the proposer can only be a natural person engaged in research who, at the time of submission of the project proposal, holds an academic degree of Ph.D., its equivalent or higher

Junior researcher projects (10% of the call allocation): only a natural person engaged in research who, in the year of submission of the project proposal, fulfils the condition that no more than 8 years have elapsed since the award of the academic degree of Ph.D. or equivalent, or will have obtained it no later than the date of conclusion of the contract/issuance of the project decision, may be a proposer. Max. CZK 7 million of eligible costs/project.
