Objectives

Dear Colleagues,

We are contacting you with a request for cooperation in the field of research data management. As part of the university-wide preparations for the new MUNI Open Science Strategy, colleagues from Rectorate and Institute of Computer Science, who are in charge of the agenda, approached us with a request to complete a questionnaire survey of your attitudes, views, and practical aspects of data management at our Faculty.

Colleagues from Rectorate and Institute of Computer Science conceive the whole future activity of supporting Open Science at MUNI mainly as a service for the scientific environment, i.e. for you. Therefore, they are not able to reach this goal without relevant feedback from you at this stage.

The analysis will serve as background material for the future Open Science Strategy, which should be presented next year. The long-term goal in this area can be summarized by gradually building scientific services that should help you in various phases of the "Research Data Life-Cycle" or data/research life cycle, including the much-discussed topic of data security and sensitive data processing.

As a part of the current support of Open Science at MUNI, there is already a network of so-called Open Science Contact Persons, who can advise you on topics such as Open Access or the development of the so-called Data Management Plan (DMP). At FSS, you could contact Mrs. Marika Hrubá (openscience@fss.muni.cz) with your questions.

Thank you for your cooperation in this very current and important agenda.

Your team of the Office for Research and Project Support.
