Objectives

Statistics on work life in academia often show striking differences between men and women when it comes to publication output, promotion, and well-being. In this lecture, Lynn P. Nygaard will explain how these apparent differences come about and discuss what research environments can do to improve gender equality (and job satisfaction) in their organizations. The lecture will include some findings from academic research but will largely be practical in nature. It should be of interest to both researchers and support staff.

Writing and publication coach Lynn P. Nygaard, a special advisor from the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), will deliver the lecture. Her tasks include professional development, gender and diversity plan at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), coaching women on the path to professorship, and supporting academics in writing and publishing.
