Strategic support for the development of security research in the Czech Republic - announcement of a call within the IMPAKT I program

The Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic announces a public competition in the research, experimental development and innovation program Strategic support for the development of security research in the Czech Republic 2019-2025 (IMPAKT 1) in Subprogramme 3 "Development of initiatives in security research".

The goal of the Program is to achieve a knowledge, technological and technical level that will enable the Czech Republic to acquire, adopt, maintain and develop the specific capabilities needed to ensure the security of the state and its citizens.

Sub-programme 3 aims to support the development of an internationalization initiative in the security research community, which is further divided into three sub-goals:

1. ensure support for the international project initiative of established workplaces,

2. ensure support for strengthening institutional contacts with leading workplaces abroad,

3. to ensure an adequate and effective information background, supporting internationalization efforts and the internal organization of the community.

 

Objectives

The areas of interest of the projects designated for support under Subprogramme 3 correspond to the substantive priorities of international cooperation in MKBV2017+, which are:

  • cyber security,
  • the fight against organized crime,
  • CBRN protection,
  • disaster risk reduction,
  • and other security topics emphasized by European framework programs.

In order to fulfill the objective of the Program and sub-objectives of Subprogramme 3, activities with a dual focus are financed:

1) Support for the creation and sustainability of foreign partnerships in the form of:
• long-term provision of access to the infrastructure of foreign partner institutions and its use, if a similar infrastructure is not available in the Czech Republic (i.e. for the implementation of a research program on foreign infrastructure),
• organizing coordination meetings and ad hoc visits for the purpose of developing joint activities not only of a project nature, aimed at producing joint results.

2) Community service support - support of community service projects specialized in security research and focused on:
• organizing a series of planning workshops on emerging areas of multidisciplinary relevance or to support networking for future research collaborations and national program initiatives,
• long-term informational support of international cooperation,
• establishment and operation of information support for the coordination of important national multilateral collaborations aimed at participation in important international grants.

Limitations

The project proposal must contain at least one main result for the entire project solution and one secondary result for every 12 months of the project solution started (types of results supported by the Program p. 6 of the tender documentation).

Start of the project no earlier than June 1, 2023, duration of implementation min. 12 months, max. 31 months (until 31.12.2025).

Only an organization for research and dissemination of knowledge (research organization) can be both an applicant and a co-applicant.

The maximum possible support intensity is 100%. The maximum amount of total project support may not exceed CZK 3.5 million.

Overheads are only possible up to 10% of direct costs (additional financing of overheads up to the amount set by the faculty must be discussed in advance with the management of the applicant's workplace).
