Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment, announced the fifth public tender to support applied research, experimental development and innovation in the field of environment - Environment for Life, sub-program 1 - Operational research in the public interest.

Deadline for submission of proposals 30.6.2021

The aim of sub-program 1 is to simplify and streamline public administration and to improve environmental management and regulation. 32 priority research objectives have been specified. Eight of them are directly focused on drought and other issues of climate change, and another ten are indirectly focused on partial technical and social problems of both adaptation and mitigation, ie reducing human contribution to climate change.

Objectives

Project proposals are expected that will be based on the needs of the public administration in the field of the environment, or offer such results that the public administration will use, especially in the creation or implementation of strategic and conceptual documents. The environmental benefits must be clear.

The project proposal must meet one priority research goal as the main, or. up to 3 other secondary targets.

Subprogram 1 focus:
● increase resource efficiency and reduce environmental pollution;
● reduction of risks resulting from insufficient or extensive environmental protection, insufficient adaptation to climate change and its consequences;
● improving the quality of life of the population of the Czech Republic, introducing the prevention of environmental pollution instead liquidation of the consequences of pollution.

Limitations

A specific public administration entity (application guarantor) must show interest in the planned outputs / results of the project proposal, a promise of public administration cooperation in implementing the output / result in practice is necessary (eg promise of pilot testing, certification, cooperation).

Start of implementation: January at the earliest and March 2022 at the latest

Implementation period: 12-36 months

Maximum amount of support per project: CZK 10 million

Maximum aid intensity per project: 85% (resarch institution up to 100% while respecting 85% of aid per project)
