Improving integration of the Central, Eastern and South Eastern European countries in the European Research Area - the funding of the establishment or development of project consortia, the completion and submission of the project proposal for EU funding programmes.

Objectives

The aim of these funding is to improve the integration of the Central, Eastern and South Eastern European countries in the European Research Area.

Funding (for universities up to 100%) is provided for the preparation of applications for projects which address the thematic areas of EU funding programmes (H2020, INTERREG, Eurostars and others).

The aim of the first funding phase is the establishment or development of project consortia and to identify EU calls for proposals to which they intend to submit an application for funding. The aim of the second funding phase is the completion and submission of the application.

Expenditure/costs eligible: mainly the funding of travel and stays by researchers and organization of workshops.

Project proposal: up to 10 pages with the description of the planned cooperation, identification of existing contacts and collaborations, description of the work and time schedule indicating estimated individual expenditure/costs…see Documents, p. 9)

Limitations

Each consortium must include at least three institutions eligible for funding:
• the German applicant
• at least one partner from one of the target countries (see Documents, p. 2)
• and at least one other partner from one other of the EU Member States
