GAMU announces competitions for the submission of project proposals starting in 2025:

Support for the preparation of international grants - HORIZONS (ongoing call)
MUNI Award in Science and Humanities – MASH, MASH StG/CoG (DL 9/12/2024)
Support for the integration of scientists after a career break - Career Restart (DL 18/10/2024)

Proposals are submitted through ISEP.

Award for excellent research results – MUNI SCIENTIST (nominations until 4 October 2024) - can be nominated by:

vice-deans for science and research of faculties and trustees of research centers of Masaryk University
director of the Center for Technology Transfer
vice-rector for research and doctoral studies
head of the RMU Research Department

Objectives

HORIZONS: intended for costs associated with the preparation of extremely prestigious and important projects of international providers (ERC, other international grants). For applicants and co-applicants from MU. The international project proposal must already have DL of the call, a preliminary budget, a goal.

Max support 250 thousand CZK (for applicants for MU), max. 100,000 CZK (for co-applicants on behalf of MU) - costs for foreign trips, consultations, editorial services, organization of preparatory meetings.

Career Restart: the aim is to create conditions for the integration of female and male researchers after career interruptions, for example due to maternity and parental leave, long-term illness or long-term care of a loved one, into research teams at MU.

- required minimum 0.5 FTE at MU before and after career break, completed PhD studies, return to work after 1/1/2023, bonus (not a condition): authorship of a publication in Q1 WOS/or comparable performance,

- project duration 2 years,

- budget 500 thousand CZK/year, personal expenses as a reward or salary supplement, up to 40% of the budget can be planned for travel expenses, services, material + SPN overhead

MASH: the goal is to bring excellent and successful external scientists to MU and offer them such conditions that they have the motivation to stay, work for MU and create exceptionally high-quality scientific results in the long term. Full time at MU.

- for applicants who did not have a job at MU in the last 5 years,

- the applicant is an ERC holder or a senior scientist with an international reputation in the field,

- the budget is given: CZK 5 million for 5 years.

MASH StG/CoG:

- for external applicants, upon fulfillment of the condition that the applicant's employment and legal relationship with MU did not exceed 12 of the last 36 months (taking into account "career breaks") as of the call deadline,

- as of the call deadline, no more than 10 years have passed since the award of the Ph.D. academic title,

- the budget is given: 3 million CZK for 4 years.

Limitations

Career Restart: a statement from the head of the workplace is required, in the case of illness/care - a sworn statement, motivation letter, CV.

MASH: attached CV, description of the research project, motivation letter, record of scientific achievements to date (only MASH StG/CoG), HS declaration of readiness to accept the applicant (declared by approval in ISEP). All in English.

Within 3 years from the start of the MASH StG/CoG, the holder submits an application for an ERC grant to the European Commission or will start the implementation of the ERC grant at MU.
