ERC 2021 Work Programme

Established by the ERC Scientific Council, the 2021 work programme was adopted by the European Commission.

Starting Grant - DL 8 April 2021, Consolidator grant - DL  20 April 2021, Advanced Grant - DL 31 August 2021

Objectives

The ERC's mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, on the basis of scientific excellence.

ERC grants are awarded through open competition to projects headed by starting and established researchers, irrespective of their origins, who are working or moving to work in Europe. The sole criterion for selection is scientific excellence.

Limitations

Starting Grant: PhD awarded from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2018, up to EUR 1 500 000 for a period of 5 years.

Consolidator Grant: PhD awarded from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2013, up to EUR 2 000 000 for a period of 5 years.

Advanced Grant: Support for excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. Up to EUR 2 500 000 for a period of 5 years.
