On 10th July 2023, the European Commission accepted the ERC Work Programme for 2024. The programme includes new elements in the assessment of research proposals and CVs of applicants, as well as in the evaluation process. It also introduces lump sum funding under Advanced Grants and changes the evaluation panel structure.

Objectives

Novelties in the programme:

1.) Changes in the structure of CV and track records - Forms will be combined into one, divided into four sections.

2.) Lump sum funding - Advanced grant projects will be piloted with lump sum funding.

3.) Evaluation of Proof of concept grants - Projects will now be evaluated in two rounds.

4.) Modification of project proposal grading - It will be possible to receive a grade A in the Evaluation Round 1 without advancing to Round 2.  Applicants will not be restricted if they resubmit a project proposal the following year.

5.) Evaluation Panels - There will be a new evaluation panel SH8 Studies of Cultures and Arts, within the field of Social Sciences and Humanities field.
