TA CR announced in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment on July 12, 2023 the seventh public competition to support applied research, experimental development and innovation in the field of the environment - Environment for Life.

The general goal of the Environment for Life program is to bring new solutions in the field of the environment, to stabilize and expand the knowledge base, which will significantly contribute to ensuring a healthy and high-quality environment in the Czech Republic and to the sustainable use of its resources and minimizes the negative impacts of human activity on the environment.

The public competition is announced in subprogramme 1 and subprogramme 2 - the Environment for Life program.

Objectives

Sub-programme 1 is focused on solving topics with local, regional and society-wide impacts, the results of which can be used in public administration (eGovernment, digitization, optimization of regulation, reduction of administrative burden) and for the creation of strategic and conceptual documents. Under sub-programme 1, only research and development projects in the public interest will be supported.

It is necessary to choose one priority research objective and contact the relevant person with a request for an expression of interest of the application guarantor (one AG is mandatory). The request is to be sent by August 24, 2023.

Within sub-programme 2, projects focused on environmental technologies and eco-innovations, projects focused on innovative approaches with practical applicability mitigating the effects of climate change, reflecting the protection of natural resources and trend-oriented on current challenges in the environment will be supported. Sub-programme 2 is financed from the National Recovery Plan.

Limitations

The project proposal must be in accordance with the National Research and Innovation Strategy for Intelligent Specialization of the Czech Republic 2021–2027 (National RIS3 Strategy).

Competition period: starts on 13/07/2023 and ends on 13/09/2023
Announcement of results: until 31 March 2024
Start of implementation: April 2024 at the earliest and June 2024 at the latest
Duration of implementation: PP1 12–33 months; PP2 12-27 months

Maximum amount of support per project: PP1 15 million CZK; PP2 CZK 15 million
Maximum support intensity per project: PP1 85%; PP2 80%
