The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA ČR), in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, has announced the second public competition in the Programme for the Support of Applied Research and Innovation in the Defence Industry PRODEF, sub-programme 2 "National Public Competitions in Defence Research" with the deadline for submission of proposals on 22 July 2026.

The public competition in sub-programme 2 is aimed at supporting applied research and innovation projects in the field of modern emerging and breakthrough technologies usable for the needs of the Army of the Czech Republic. The results of the projects will have high potential for application in a number of civilian and military areas, the so-called dual use (use for civilian and military purposes).

Objectives

Each project proposal must fulfill one of the following topics:

Digital command, control and data-based decision-making

Unmanned platforms and autonomous systems

Protection of forces against unmanned systems

Energy management and alternative mobility of military systems

Information resilience of the armed forces

Effective cooperation between the soldier and technological systems, technologically supported perception and decision-making of the soldier

Limitations

At least one company must be involved in each project proposal.

Application guarantor Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic (must apply on the form by 30. 6. 2026).

Duration of project: 12-36 months

Maximum amount of support per project 70%.

Support per project max. 50 million CZK.

The applicant must include in the project proposal a result of type O – other results entitled “Involvement in international activities”, with a deadline for achievement in the last year of the project. This result must contain a detailed description of all activities
leading to involvement in international projects or establishing cooperation in the areas in which the research is carried out, as of the date of its achievement.
